[Welp. He'd had time to think, to process, and to exert himself. Having accomplished all that, well -- Edge goes looking for Minako. Gotta see an expert about a problem!]

[Minako was currently standing in one of the quiet rooms, arms folded as she was simply looking around.]

Well I would need something over there, blankets and pillows, but would would one use for a makeshift bed?

[Her plans to make it into a room for couples to use is clearly something she is going to attempt to do. Once she had some ideas she turned around and found herself pausing for a moment.]

Ah! Helo there, how may I help you?

That sounds so formal! And here I thought our shared time at the beach left us with something special.

[Amused, he leans on the doorway, folding his arms.]

After all, if not for that time, how else would I know to come to you with romance troubles?

If it's for love related help, I kind of have to be a professional about it.

[Not that she knew at the time. But at least now she was focused on the other.]

So what troubles do you have?

These days, a lack of it. Thanks to the vagaries of the train and.. [He waves one hand. The sting has abated, and though he won't describe himself as happy that Yuffie'd taken off, he can only assume she's back where she belongs to take care of the town and people she loved.] And that's when I thought of you!

[She laughed as she lightly hit her head, not as a way to actually hurt herself, but in a fun way.]

So you want a relationship? or just a one night thing?

I had no idea the second offering would even come up! That -- no, no, I came here hoping for a date.

A date? You want me to set you up with someone?

[She never ever had to do that before that wasn't an accident or something.]

Well, sort of. [Edge straightens up a little, unconsciously brushing the trailing end of his scarf to make sure it's hanging free.] You see, I did happen to notice a certain girl that has a lot of qualities I like...

Thats great, but um...Did you need me to help set them up or do you need tips on how to ask?

[He hadn't planned on coming at this sidelong, but hey! Why waste a good opportunity for a dashing and clever line?] You could say it's a little bit of the first... because I came looking for you to ask if you might consider going on a date with me at some point.

[She couldn't help but look puzzled for a moment. Mostly because usually if people like they are probably evil. At least those who ever showed interest or made her think they did had been evil.

So she couldn't help but internally be a little on edge.]

Why me? [Probably not the best first question to ask.]

[What a weird question to ask! And one that startles Edge, confusion in his eyes and voice both as he answers.]

Obviously, you're very pretty, I don't need to tell you that, right? And when we talked, that time, it was... good? I liked it and I thought I'd like to talk to you more. And I've seen the things you've done to try to help out around here, so, you clearly have a good heart? Beauty, brains, and personality, what's -- why not you?

[She could at least appreciate being called beauty. because of course. As someone who in her past life was born near Venus, she would of course be. Plus she always calls herself that.

But it was still weird that anyone would ever consider asking her out and wasn't evil... that she knows of. She hopes not, but at the same time, she also knew that the moment she could get home, she would be back to simply fulfilling her duty.

She had been quiet for what seems like a rather uncomfortable amount of time before she finally speaks up.]

I mean... all of that is indeed correct. So... I guess we can try at least one date.

[Because it would seem odd if a teenage girl said no to someone she thought was cute without giving anything away. Plus one date would at least be enough to make her feel better and seeing what it was like at least once.]

[It isn't exactly the full-throated enthusiasm he'd have hoped for! But her question, and then the long pause, cue him in that SOMEthing is going on her head that he doesn't understand. Maybe he'll be able to get to the root of why at some point... but for now, she'd agreed, and Edge flashes a bright grin that shows in his eyes, even if his scarf hides it.]

Terrific, and I'm honored! And at your service, whensoever you'd like to do it. It's not like we don't have anything but time here, after all...

[Whenever, well Minako didn't really mind the whole when aspect, but she had a few other things she is pondering on.]

That is true, especially since it's no longer mission time and usually then we go so long before the next one. So I don't mind the when, but did you want me to plan something?

I - hmm. [The answer isn't as obvious as he'd thought, is it?] Well, on the one hand it doesn't feel quite right for me to ask you out and then you do all the planning. But on the other hand, I want you to be happy and have fun! So it's up to you if you want to, if you'd enjoy that best.

[Minako was a girl who was sure the other might not nessissarily know how to do the whole date thing either way. Nor did Minako but hey, she at least was good at coming up with stupid ideas that might work.]

How about this. Give me a couple ideas of what you would consider to be a date?

[If it's stupid, and it works, and they have a good time, is it really stupid?]

A shared meal is a classic in all times and places, from everything I've heard here. I wish we had the beach again... [Not just to look at her in a swimsuit again, but because it had pleasant memories.] Here, the games they have in the car are good. Or we could find a place and just talk, I liked talking to you.

Agreed, but we'd have to cook it ourselves and I have proven I am not capable of that. [So if she was to prepare the date that would be ultimately out for really obvious reasons.]

I do agree the games carriage is good. I am there when not busy with other things. and you can do that and talk at the same time you know.

Depends on the game. I'm fond of that one that you play as a swordsman, trying to take on different enemies and save the world... it reminds me of home. [He winks at her, without modesty as he hints at his own heroic past.] But if there's one you like, I'd love to try it!

Which one is that? I thought I saw like...three that were swordsman?

[She was trying to remember the differences and she figured setting wise was the usually most obvious one.]

What was the setting like if it reminded you of home?

You know, the one with the helmet that shows you a different world? ['Virtual reality' is a bit beyond his current technology-terminology level.] Of course, as a king I'm used to things like castles and duties, but really I meant saving the world! I've had a small hand in that, you know.

I think I know of the one. I just haven't played with that much.

[She has tried it at best once, but prefers to not feel dizzy or such after using it.]

So...it was the whole saving the world thing you were most use to? What an odd thing to want to be used to.

[Edge runs one hand through his hair.] You're a hard girl to impress...

I am a girl of simple wants and needs, but trying to understand someone is hard, but as I said before I will figure out something while I work on things I have planned anyway.

[She had at least two things she was trying to sort out, one being why she was in the quiet carriage in the first place.]

Well, I'm very curious as to what your perfect date will be, and very much looking forward to taking you on it! Simple or complex as your needs might be, I'll make sure you smile through it all!

I don't have one, because there isn't a perfect date. [She also has never had to think about it because of various factors.]

So long as two people have fun that is enough and would be considered perfect.

Exactly! Isn't that what I said? [See his grin in his eyes and hear it in his voice.]

Maybe. I thought you were asking what my perfect date was.

I said I want to see it. More importantly, I want to be a part of it. That smile on your face will be so radiant I can't bear to imagine missing it!
